A few years ago when the lake levels were low, I was lucky enough to be out on the ledges between Hurricane River and the AuSable Light Station with my camera. I discovered the most amazing shapes of eroded crevices and potholes in the sandstone ledges, most of which had a lovely collection of multi colored Lake Superior stones in them. I took many photos that day, and have done several watercolors from them. What treasures I found that day….and now most are once again under the water!
