A Geology Story
The rich variety of colors, textures and shapes of these beach stones each tell a story about earth’s geologic history. Volcanic and metamorphic rocks along the Lake Superior shores are dominant, including banded agates, basalt, jaspers, epidote and granite. They have been moved by glaciers and polished by wave action in the lake. I approach these rock paintings as a collection of portraits of each individual stone.Available at Middle Street Gallery in Washington, VA during my solo show May 22 - June 28. The image is 6x9, double matted and framed to 11x14.
