Yellow Lady Slipper

Finding a yellow lady slipper in the woods feels like finding a real treasure! This delicate orchid is native to North America, generally growing in shade to partial sun, often found at the edges of woodlands or under tall trees. They have a symbiotic relationship with specific fungi in the soil, making them difficult to transplant. On Federal lands it is illegal to dig up or pick the orchids, many states have laws protecting them as well. Double matted and framed to 9x15.Available at Middle Street Gallery in Washington, VA beginning June 20.
