Trees Hugging Rocks
Isn't it amazing the way trees can grow so large in a rock outcrop? I am totally enchanted by the way their roots can curl and reach over the rocks for such a long way to get anchored into the soil. It looks to me as if the trees are hugging the rocks! I used to work in ink and watercolor quite a bit, but this is one of the few recent pieces I have done in this medium.
