Birch Forest
I have always loved birch trees, even as a child! This mixed media painting was fun creative exploration. I started with 300# watercolor paper, which I coated with gesso, and used brush work to give texture. It was interesting to see how the watercolors behaved a little differently on the gesso surface. I added some pencil in for detail and additional texture. I would like to work with this combination some more, I like the way this came out! The image is 6x10 double matted and framed to 12x16.
